Words of Europe continues its journey... also in Italy!

See you online on December 19, 2024, from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm to delve into false myths and fake news about the European Union and share suitable tools to recognize and deconstruct them. The event is co-organized by Arci Solidarietà, Mandragola, UCCA, and the Altera Association.

"Europe is a slave to the United States!"
"Since the introduction of the euro, prices have doubled!"
"The European Union will force us to eat bugs!"

These are just a few of the false myths circulating on the web or phrases that some politicians sometimes tend to assert and emphasize about the European Union. This news is often unverified, or the statements lack an objective basis of truth.

All this misinformation does nothing but discredit the European Union and its cohesion policies, as well as convey the wrong message about the goals and values of European institutions.
But how can we recognize them? How should we respond to these statements?

Project partners from Italy—Altera, Arci Solidarietà, Mandragola, and Ucca—are organizing an online event to respond to these (and many other!) fake news items and demonstrate, through dialogue, how to deconstruct them.

This initiative will allow participants to interact through educational and innovative online platforms, engaging in discussions on the most debated questions and issues related to Europe.
Let's share ideas together to collaboratively shape the future of Europe!

This online event will also provide an opportunity to discuss these topics with students from Italian high schools.
The appointment is set for Tuesday, December 19, starting at 4 pm.

To participate, register at this link. Then you will receive the link to the Zoom meeting via e-mail.

We look forward to seeing you there!
